The Solution
With this goal in mind, Airbus worked with us to implement a range of specialized and flexible network TAPs.
We deployed our network TAPs into Airbus’s network in the specialist avionics bus analyser, known as FdXplorer, providing them with:
- Non-intrusive monitoring with built-in fail-safes
- The flexibility to support numerous test scenarios
- Multiple monitoring points
We also used commercial Ethernet switches, which allowed testing to occur earlier than planned – an impressive feat for Airbus.
“I’m delighted to say the use of Network Critical’s TAPs across the multiple rigs, has helped us to complete all our first flight test objectives on schedule, whilst at the same time offering us the additional capability to resolve some of the inherent limitations of layer 2 switches.” System Test Lead Engineer, Airbus
The Results
Our solution ensured that the network remained operational while providing 100% visibility into test data. The cost-effectiveness of TAPs allowed Airbus to reinvest their remaining budget into additional network tools needed for further tests.
Following this success, our partnership with Airbus has continued to grow. We’re now collaborating on next-generation network monitoring solutions for their A400M military aircraft.
